Job Overview

Townsen Memorial Hospital is looking for a Quality Coordinator to join our team in our Houston, TX location!

The Quality Coordinator is responsible for supporting and advancing quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care and safety across the organization. Under the direct supervision of the Quality Manager, this role coordinates quality assurance activities, including data collection and analysis, performance improvement tracking, regulatory reporting, and staff education. The Quality Coordinator ensures compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, and state and federal regulations while serving as a key resource in promoting a culture of continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Collect, enter, and validate quality and compliance data from multiple departments
• Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential electronic and paper filing systems
• Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc quality performance reports
• Review incident reports, track departmental follow-up, and ensure timely resolution
• Coordinate documentation and logistics for audits, surveys, and accreditation readiness activities
• Monitor and track progress of action items related to quality improvement projects
• Analyze data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for performance improvement
• Support development and implementation of corrective action plans in underperforming areas
• Provide staff education and training related to quality standards, reporting requirements, and documentation practices
• Format, maintain, and update quality documents, forms, and tools in alignment with policy
• Participate in department meetings, performance improvement committees, and staff development activities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and present data in support of quality improvement efforts

Solid understanding of healthcare terminology, compliance processes, and quality standards.

Education and Experience

• Associate’s degree in a health‑related or relevant field
• Two (2) years of experience in an acute care or public health setting
• Healthcare Accreditation Certification Program (HACP‑CMS) or must be obtained within one year of hire
• BLS certified or must obtain certification within 90 days of hire
