Job summary

Pregis is hiring a QC Technician to oversee packaging operations and hourly/temporary staff, ensuring the highest quality products at the lowest cost. You’ll verify customer specs, follow SOPs, and support continuous quality improvements under the Quality & Safety Manager.

You will monitor production lines, conduct inspections, and document results, maintaining pace and accuracy while adhering to safety guidelines and company policies.

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent technical school preferred.
  • 1–3 years in a manufacturing environment and/or inspection role preferred.
  • Knowledge of packaging production SOPs and quality standards a plus.
  • Ability to read measurements and perform basic calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document hourly inspections and run profile, retain samples per SOPs.
  • Monitor mailer production for defects; report non-conformities and initiate hold procedures with supervision.
  • Train Packers on QA SOPs and conduct audits to ensure inspections are performed.
  • Collaborate with Packaging Team Lead and Operations to resolve issues per QA SOPs.
  • Communicate with incoming shift for smooth handoffs and minimize delays.
  • Identify raw material defects and forward information to Quality Manager.

QC Technician

Classification: Hourly

Reports To: Quality & Safety Manager

Department: Quality

Schedule: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (2-2-3 rotating schedule)

Summary of Job

Under the direction of the Quality & Safety Manager, oversee packaging operations and hourly and temporary employees to ensure the production of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance. Adhere to customer specifications and delivery requirements, working in accordance with Pregis policies and procedures.

Overview

The QA Inspector ensures constant quality monitoring during production, maintaining continuous product quality and guiding workflow by monitoring the packaging workforce’s quality inspections and processes. Perform inspections at prescribed intervals and document results across multiple production lines. Support department employees in performing duties correctly and ensure the team operates at or above designated run speeds.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Perform and document hourly inspections and run profile, retain samples per EverTec Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor mailer production, including packaging, for defects and inaccuracies per EverTec quality standards; correct and report any non‑conformities and initiate hold procedures when needed, in collaboration with the Team Lead and Shift Supervisor.
  • Train Packers on EverTec QA SOP; regularly conduct audits to ensure quality inspections are being performed.
  • Work with Packaging Team Lead and Operations to resolve issues per EverTec QA SOPs.
  • Communicate effectively with the incoming shift to ensure a smooth handoff; keep open dialogue with staff to minimize delays.
  • Help identify raw material defects, capture relevant information (lot codes, samples, etc.) and forward to the Quality Manager.
Competency (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (Spanish bilingual a plus).
  • Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
  • Ability to follow standardized work instructions.
  • Understand detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Read a ruler, scale, and micrometer.
  • Work in a fast‑paced environment with a focus on quality.
  • Work overtime as needed daily, or on weekends, based upon business needs.
  • Promote a positive teamwork culture and champion company core values.

Education and Experience
