Job summary

Pregis LLC is hiring a QA Inspector to oversee packaging operations and ensure the highest quality products at the lowest cost, while meeting customer specs. The role supports hourly and temporary staff and adheres to Pregis policies and procedures.

The position emphasizes constant quality monitoring during production, guiding workflow and maintaining product quality across multiple lines. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in manufacturing or inspection and knowledge of SOPs and quality

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent technical schooling preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in manufacturing or inspection role preferred.
  • Knowledge of packaging SOPs and Quality Standards a plus.
  • Spanish bilingual a plus, able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document hourly inspections and run profile, retain samples per SOPs.
  • Monitor mailer production for defects; initiate hold procedures with supervision when needed.
  • Train Packers on QA SOP; conduct audits to ensure inspections are performed.
  • Work with Packaging Team Lead to resolve issues per QA SOPs.
  • Communicate with upcoming shift to ensure smooth handoffs and minimize delays.
  • Identify raw material defects and forward information to Quality Manager.

Summary of Job

Under the direction of the Quality & Safety Manager oversees packaging operations along with hourly and temporary employees to ensure the production of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance. Adheres to customer specifications and delivery requirements, while working in accordance with Pregis policies and procedures.

Overview:

The QA Inspector ensures constant quality monitoring during production. Responsible for maintaining continuous product quality during production and guiding workflow by monitoring packaging work force’s quality inspections and packaging process. Performs quality inspections at regularly prescribed intervals and documents accordingly across multiple production lines. Helps employees in the department perform their duties correctly. Helps team operate at or above designated run speeds.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Perform and document hourly inspections and run profile, retain samples per EverTec Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor mailer production, including packaging, for defects and inaccuracies per EverTec quality standards; correct and report any non-conformities and initiate hold procedure when needed in collaboration with Team Lead and Shift Supervisor as needed.
  • Train Packers on EverTec Quality Assurance (QA) SOP; regularly conduct audits to ensure quality inspections are being performed.
  • Work with Packaging Team Lead and Operations to resolve issues per EverTec QA SOPs.
  • Communicate effectively with upcoming shift to ensure smooth handoff; keep open dialogue with staff to minimize delays.
  • Help to identify raw material defects, captures relevant information (lot codes, samples, etc.) and forward to Quality Manager.

  • Ability to take coaching well and interact respectfully with others

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (Spanish bilingual a plus)
  • Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment
  • Ability to follow standardized work instructions
  • Ability to understand detailed written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to read a ruler, scale, and micrometer.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality.
  • Ability to work Overtime as needed daily, or weekends based upon business needs.
  • Exposure to moving equipment
  • Humidity may exceed 80%
  • Personal Protective Equipment require
Physical Characteristics
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 45 lbs.)
  • Occasional typing/keyboarding

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis’s total compensation package. The hourly base pay range for this role is estimated to be $18-$23 per hour
