Job Description

Schmidt Construction, part of the Edw. C. Levy Group of Companies, is seeking a Quality Control Technician to work at our Colorado Springs, CO location. The technician tests materials and assists in maintaining or modifying aggregate gradations to meet customer demands, using moderately complex testing methods and equipment.

Pay: $23-24/hr

Schedule: 8am-5pm Mon-Fri (Occasional Nights and Weekends)

Responsibilities:

• Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and record keeping
• Perform routine testing of aggregate samples (quartering samples, running gradations, washes, moistures, and picking deleterious)
• Determine appropriate handling procedures and sampling techniques for specific applications
• Perform moderately complex testing procedures – determining specific gravity, unit weight, etc.
• Maintain work area for cleanliness and safety
• Enter data and generate reports from the aggregate quality reporting system
• Meet internal and external customer service expectations

Skills:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and stockpiles
• Basic knowledge of office machinery and software
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment

Technical Specifications:
