Medical Device Company seeks a Quality Control Technician/Inspector in Covington, GA for a 12-month contract. 1st shift, 40 hours/week, pay rate $20-25/hr. OT on Saturdays may be required. Focus on QA for Interventional Access Systems at the Covington facility.

Responsibilities include visual, dimensional, and functional inspections, paperwork, and adherence to ISO/FDA-like standards. Requires high school diploma and 1–2 years QC experience.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Experience in regulated environments (ISO, FDA) preferred.
  • Able to read and understand AQL inspection plans and sampling plans.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Performs visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on a wide variety of products per procedures and specs.
  • Prepares inspection paperwork and result documentation accurately.
  • Verifies product lot records per Bard specifications and good documentation practices.
  • Prepares non-conformance (MRR/Rejection) notices when appropriate.
  • Performs re-work per procedures and internal protocols.
  • Uses sampling plans to determine inspection levels for routine quality inspections.
  • Cross trains to provide quality control coverage as needed.

Job Description
  • This position is responsible for ensuring the quality of products processed for Interventional Access Systems (BAS Kitting) at 8195/Global Distribution Center, Covington, GA.
  • The QC Technician will ensure that all procedures, inspection protocols and specifications are adhered to in accordance to client product requirements and meets visual, physical, and/ or dimensional requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Performs visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on a wide variety of products in accordance with internal procedures and Product Specifications.
  • Accurately prepares inspection paperwork and result documentation.
  • Verifies Documentation of product lot records to ensure compliance with Bard’s product specifications and good documentation procedures.
  • Prepares non-conformance (MRR/Rejection) notices (where appropriate).
  • Performs re-work functions in accordance with procedures and internal protocols
  • Utilizes sampling plans to determine inspection levels for routine quality inspections
  • Trains on all applicable procedures as it relates to the Quality Technician role
  • Participates as needed as a quality representative for small team activities for process improvements
  • Cross trains to provide quality control coverage as needed in support of business needs/ strategies.
  • Other duties as applicable or assigned.
  • Seen as a Champion of Quality as it relates to the execution of the QMS
Qualifications

  • Have previous experience in a regulated environment (ISO, FDA) (preferred)
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers with basic level of keyboarding skills
  • Ability to utilize measurement equipment (calibrated rulers & weights, calipers, etc. ) a plus
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Self-starter, must be able to work independently with little direct supervision
  • Responsible decision maker, ability to reason and make sound decisions
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement, Problem Analysis, Root Cause Investigation
  • Understands Quality sampling plans and must be able to read and understand AQL inspection plans
  • Experience in performing quality inspections in process or within a lab environment.
Education And/or Experience
  • High School Education or equivalent
  • One to two (1-2) years related Quality Control experience or equivalency
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and communicate well with individuals at all levels of the organizations. Must read and interpret sampling plans
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to perform basic math problems. Basic aptitude test required.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands, arms, and lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
  • Employee is required to meet with other personnel in other areas of building. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Work Environment
  • Employee primarily works in a warehouse environment with exposure to fluctuations in temperature and humidity.
  • The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.
