Job summary

Griot’s Garage is seeking a Quality Control Technician II to join our QC team in Plainfield, IN. The role involves inspecting raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with internal specs and regulatory standards.

You will record results, analyze data, and drive continuous improvement with cross-functional teams, including Production and R&D. Prior QC experience and strong documentation skills are required, with a passion for automotive care a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of inspection quality control experience in an industrial environment (chemical manufacturing a plus).
• Working knowledge of inspection methods, measurement tools, and analytical testing techniques.
• Competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and electronic data systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Understanding of industry standards, regulations, and company policies related to quality.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to evaluate data, identify patterns, draw conclusions, and resolve quality issues.
• Ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
• Ability to manage documentation and track testing specifications.
• Interest in cars and car care, a plus!

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and analytical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
• Accurately record and maintain detailed inspection results, test data, and deviations in logs and quality documentation systems.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and findings, including reports, logs, and other documentation.
• Identify and document nonconformances; elevate issues to appropriate departments for resolution.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities related to product quality and process enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, R&D, and Quality Assurance, to ensure consistent product quality.
• Calibrate equipment used for testing and ensure proper maintenance.
• Assist in training production staff and new technicians.
• Contribute to the development of SOPs and work instructions.
• Identify and report safety issues related to Quality Assurance Manager
