Qualifications

Job description

County Materials Corporation is a leading manufacturer and trusted industry resource for concrete construction and landscape products. For more than 75 years, their products have been used to build the communities where Americans live, work, and play.

We are seeking a Quality Control Technician for our customer, County Materials, located in Astatula, FL.

Job Duties:
  1. Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products.
  2. Inspects materials, parts, and products at different stages of production.
  3. Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.
  4. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the concrete industry.
  5. Regularly observes the production process including setup, casting, stripping, and storage of product.
  6. Works with production to identify and resolve quality issues related to casting and concrete performance.
  7. Manages housekeeping to ensure a safe workplace.
  8. Performs other tasks as needed.
Work Environment:
  1. Works in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures.
  2. Works near moving machinery and equipment, which could include electrical hazards.
  3. Works in a noisy environment.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Carrying/Lifting 10 - 40 Pounds frequently.
  2. Carrying/Lifting > 40 Pounds occasionally.
  3. Standing, walking, climbing, squatting, crouching, kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching above shoulder.
Experience & Qualifications:
  1. Understanding of a manufacturing environment.
  2. Concrete plant and/or quality control experience highly desired.
  3. Ability to interpret shop drawings and job specifications.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  5. Solid math aptitude.
  6. Ability to train and obtain technical certifications as directed.
  7. Ability to work independently.
  8. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  9. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  10. 1-2 years prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
  11. Experience in the construction and/or building materials industry preferred, but not required.
