Job summary

Knife River Montana is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our Missoula team. The role focuses on standardized testing of aggregate, asphalt, and concrete materials in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT procedures, with results documented promptly.

You will travel occasionally and may work up to 7 days per week; training will be provided for WAQTC and ACI certifications, and you must maintain safety and calibration records while communicating findings to project teams.

Qualifications

• Must obtain WAQTC Aggregate and Asphalt certifications and ACI Concrete testing certification; training provided.
• Proficiency in basic mathematics and material property calculations.
• Basic computer skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
• Ability to lift samples up to 50 lbs and hold a valid driver''s license.

Responsibilities

• Test materials per ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT procedures.
• Document, log, and report all test results promptly.
• Communicate results and observations to supervisors, project managers, and production team.
• Maintain testing equipment and calibration records.
• Follow safety policies and keep a clean, orderly work environment.
• Represent Knife River Montana professionally to team, customers and inspectors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
