Job summary

Knife River Montana in Missoula, MT is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our team. You will perform standardized testing on aggregate, asphalt, and concrete in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO and applicable state DOT procedures.

The role requires strong math skills and proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, plus a valid driver's license. Training will be provided for WAQTC and ACI certifications. Expect varied hours and potential travel.

Qualifications

Certification in WAQTC Aggregate testing or willingness to obtain via exams (training provided).
Certification in WAQTC Asphalt testing or willingness to obtain via exams (training provided).
Certification in ACI Concrete testing or willingness to obtain via exams (training provided).
Proficiency with basic mathematics including calculations related to material properties.
Basic computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Responsibilities

Perform standardized testing on aggregate, asphalt, and concrete materials per ASTM, AASHTO, and state DOT procedures.
Accurately document, log, and report test results in a timely and organized manner.
Communicate test results and quality control observations clearly to supervisors, project managers, and production team.
Maintain testing equipment and tools, including calibration checks and recordkeeping.
Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
Represent Knife River in a professional manner with team members, customers and inspectors.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
