American Rock Products, part of the CRH family, is seeking a quality control tester to sample concrete and aggregate, perform field tests, and record results. You’ll work with plant staff to ensure top-quality materials for projects and growth opportunities within a safety-focused culture.

Training will be provided to developACI and concrete strength testing skills; a valid driver's license and ability to work overtime are required in a fast-paced environment.

Competenze

  • ACI Concrete Technician certification required.
  • Concrete Strength Testing certification required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must pass DOT physical exam and pre-employment drug testing.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Mansioni

  • Collect samples from concrete or aggregate plants.
  • Perform field density tests and other properties.
  • Record data and enter into computer systems.
  • Perform and record aggregate gradations and concrete tests.
  • Communicate with plant staff and team members.
  • Assist other production areas as needed.

Wage Scale for Position:

$23.00-$27.35/hr DOE w/ potential for overtime.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Collect samples from concrete or aggregate plants
  • Performs field tests for density or other properties
  • Performs and records aggregate gradations
  • Performs field tests for concrete performance
  • Process samples using a variety of testing equipment and procedures
  • Record data and enter information into computer systems
  • Communicates with plant staff
  • Performs general clean-up and maintenance duties as assigned
  • Routinely assist other members of the work force in different areas of production
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to obtain A.C.I Concrete Technician certification and concrete Strength Testing certification,
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Demonstrates good performance, safety and attendance.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic mathematics.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with all departments and customers on the phone and in person.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Demonstrates organizational and time management skills.
  • Must pass DOT physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
  • Safety sensitive: "Per RCW 49.44.240 this position has been identified by the employer as safety sensitive and will be subject to an employer-required pre-employment drug screening that includes testing for nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites."
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

  • GRIP - with at least 90 lbs. of force
  • CLIMBING - in, around, and on equipment
  • HEAVY LIFTING - of extremely awkward parts and equipment up to 75 lbs. from floor to waist
  • AWKWARD POSITIONS - getting to and from both sitting and kneeling on the ground
  • FLEXIBILITY - awkward reaches
  • BALANCE - including standing and walking on extremely slick and uneven surfaces while carrying.
  • VISION - 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions
  • HEARING - corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions from coworkers
