Job summary

Van Drunen Farms is seeking a quality-focused QA technician for our Crown Point, IN facility on the second shift. You will inspect materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality and customer specs, and you will document results to support continuous improvement.

You will monitor critical food safety controls, assist with FSMA/HACCP compliance, and coach team members on quality and safety procedures to uphold our high standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of manufacturing experience preferred, ideally within food, beverage, or ingredient manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email applications.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and analytical skills with a commitment to quality and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and verify raw materials, packaging components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and customer specifications.
• Identify, isolate, document, and elevate non-conforming materials while partnering with Production and Quality leadership to investigate and resolve issues.
• Monitor and verify critical food safety and quality controls, including code dates, scale calibrations, metal detection systems, sanitation checks, and production documentation.
• Support compliance with FSMA, HACCP, traceability, and regulatory requirements through accurate recordkeeping and verification activities.
• Participate in incident investigations, corrective actions, environmental monitoring programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train and coach production team members on quality standards, food safety procedures, and documentation accuracy.
