Job summary

Red Boot Beverage in Des Moines, IA is seeking a diligent Quality Assurance Technician for the third shift (11:30 PM–7:00 AM). You will monitor, measure, and improve products and processes to ensure compliance with GMP, SQF, and customer specifications.

The role emphasizes data analysis, calibration oversight, and driving continuous improvement in a warehouse/manufacturing environment, with daily on-site work and strong collaboration with production teams.

Qualifications

  • GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to learn laboratory and measuring/test equipment.
  • Knowledge of statistics and using software to drive data analysis.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, capable of fostering strong internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently as well as in a team to attain goals.
  • Well-organized and skilled in time management, prioritization, scheduling, and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and monitors quality assurance policies and procedures regarding sampling, evaluation, and statistical analysis.
  • Applies industry specifications and follows established procedures to inspect, test, and record production samples to drive performance insight.
  • Interprets and analyzes data/metrics to identify opportunities for quality and process improvement in production facilities.
  • Investigates non-conformance utilizing quality tools and techniques to determine root cause and establishes a corrective action plan.
  • Facilitates the implementation of corrective actions by working closely with production.
  • Ensures metrics fall within customer specifications and takes appropriate action as required.
  • Champions and leads quality-related continuous improvement activities.
  • Oversees calibration of inspection equipment and orders testing supplies.
  • Meets GMP and SQF requirements; participates in safety meetings as required.

Position Summary

Responsible for monitoring, measuring, and improving products and associated processes while ensuring compliance with third party certification agencies.

Third Shift (11:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
Position Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation, and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Implements and monitors quality assurance policies and procedures regarding sampling, evaluation, and statistical analysis.
  • Applies industry specifications and follows established procedures to inspect, test, and record production samples in a timely manner to drive performance insight.
  • Interprets and analyzes data/metrics to identify opportunities for quality and process improvement in production facilities.

  • Cultivates and promotes a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations; identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions; participate in safety meetings as required.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledgeable of good manufacturing practices (GMP) preferred
Work Expectations
  • This is a regular, full-time position with daily hours on site.
  • The ability to be available for work daily and extended hours as necessary.
  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment, manufacturing plant and occasionally outside in what may be adverse weather conditions.
  • The work environment can involve exposure to heat, cold, humidity, moving machinery, extreme noise, visual strain, close quarters, fumes, odors, dust mists, and gases.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk andlisten.
  • This position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing and operating machinery.
  • The employee should be able to lift and/or move items up to up to 25+ pounds many times per day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
