Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Promontory, UT, is seeking a Quality Control Technician Level 2 to perform visual and dimensional inspections and verify parts against blueprints, CAD drawings, and Quality Procedures. The position starts on day shift and may rotate, with overtime, weekends, and holidays possible.

You will use calipers, micrometers, and CMMs to verify tight tolerances on inert and energetic materials within our Space Sector.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years related education/experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
  • Basic understanding of reading blueprints.
  • Must be comfortable working with and around energetics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and final dimensional inspections to verify items meet blueprints, CAD drawings, specs, procedures, and instructions.
  • Inspections using calipers, depth micrometers, height gauges, ID/OD micrometers, and CMMs on tight tolerance materials and assemblies.
  • Apply Geometric Tolerancing to verify true positions, runouts, profiles, flatness, and perpendicularity.
  • Review data ensuring temperature/humidity requirements are met for in-process and deliverable hardware.
  • Other duties as assigned

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Quality Control Technician Level 2 to join our team in Promontory, UT.

Process Quality Assurance responsibilities cover a wide array of manufacturing areas and a broad variety of processes on inert and energetic materials.

The position will start on day shift and has the potential to move to rotating shifts.

Occasional overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays may be required.

In This Job, You Will
  • Perform visual and final dimensional inspections to verify items are acceptable to the following requirements: Blueprints, CAD drawings, specification, Quality Procedures, and planning instructions.
  • Inspections are performed using calipers, depth micrometers, height gages, I.D. & O.D. micrometers and stationery and portable CMM’s etc. on tight tolerance materials, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Use of Geometric Tolerancing to verify true positions, runouts, profiles, flatness, perpendicularity requirements.
  • Reviews data ensuring temperature/humidity requirements are met for in process and deliverable hardware.
  • Other duties as assigned

This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.

Basic Qualifications For Level 2
  • H igh School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Basic understanding of reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Must be comfortable working with and around energetics.

Primary Level Salary Range: $44,400.00 - $74,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
