Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Quality Control Technician at Level 2 or 3 for Magna, UT. The role is 100% onsite with a 9/80 schedule and alternating Fridays off. You will inspect parts and assemblies, perform process assessments, interpret drawings, and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 2–4 years of related experience, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Experience with government contractors and SMI is preferred.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9000/AS9100 quality systems and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual, in-process and final dimensional inspections on parts and assemblies.
  • Conduct Quality Process Assessments and inspections per procedures.
  • Work with standard measuring instruments and GD&T standards.
  • Accept shift work, weekends, holidays and overtime as required.
  • Maintain EP status under the Safe Explosives Act where applicable.

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Quality Control Technician - Level 2 or Level 3 to join our team in Magna, UT. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

In This Job, You Will
  • Perform visual, in-process and final dimensional inspections on tightly tolerance piece parts, subassemblies and final assemblies in the production area.
  • Perform Quality Process Assessments
  • Performs required inspections in accordance with procedures and planning documentation.
  • Performs required inspections using standard measurement instruments.
  • Must be able to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
  • Able to acquire and maintain Employee Possessor (EP) status under the Safe Explosives Act (SEA).
  • Other duties as assigned

This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.

Basic Qualifications For Level 2
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Experience working with government contractors.
  • SMI (Standard Measuring Instruments) experience

  • Working knowledge and understanding of GD&T.
  • Excellent shop math skills and advanced trigonometry.
  • Experience with ISO 9000/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement/PES techniques.
  • Must have good computer skills - MS Office suite.
  • Must be able to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
  • Able to acquire and maintain Employee Possessor (EP) status under the Safe Explosives Act (SEA).
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, walk up and down stairs, climb up ladders, reach into tight spaces, and lift up to 30 pounds.

  • Technical strengths in processing, operations, and inspection. Possess the ability to plan and organize work in order to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work multiple programs while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to record detail information accurately, timely and follow instructions.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and effective interface with Mission Assurance department members, suppliers, customers, all other departments within the organization and both technical and non-technical personnel.

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards

Primary Level Salary Range: $44,400.00 - $74,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $52,700.00 - $87,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
