Quality Control Technician
Location: Wayne, PA
Pay: $23/hour
Shift: Training on 1st shift, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Upon completion of training, transitions to 12-hour night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule (approximately 84 hours biweekly).
Responsibilities
- Perform sample preparation and testing on raw materials, in-process, and finished catalyst samples using techniques such as LECO Solids, ICP-OES, Particle Size Distribution, PGM Dispersion, Thermo-Gravimetric Analysis, Surface Area, and X-Ray Fluorescence
- Maintain good laboratory and measurement practices in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/TS 16949 standards
- Accurately enter and export sample data using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Inventory Tracking System (ITS)
- Write clear laboratory procedures and prepare ICP calibration standards with independent verification
- Calibrate and maintain lab instruments, and distinguish between good and bad data
- Follow all Health and Safety/environmental procedures, including PPE requirements, and report incidents or near misses
- Support housekeeping standards and participate in LEAN initiatives (5S, SOPs, CI, Kaizen) to sustain a LEAN lab environment
- Collaborate with plant employees and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Job Requirements
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Detailed understanding of general wet chemical techniques for inorganic analysis
- Good working knowledge of analytical instrumental techniques used within QC labs
- Awareness of ISO/IEC 17025 and IATF 16949 quality standards
- Ability to comply with onsite PPE requirements, including steel-toe boots (lab jacket, safety hat, glasses, and gloves provided)
Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience
- Prior lab technician experience (entry-level candidates with some lab tech experience will be considered)
