Job summary

A construction company based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is looking for a responsible individual to ensure the accuracy of form setups, concrete quality, and cable tension. The role requires knowledge of ACI and PCI standards and involves testing and equipment handling. Candidates must be able to work independently in various weather conditions and must have good manual dexterity. ACI/PCI certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and experience demonstrating the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
• Certification in relevant standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify form setup accuracy, concrete quality, and cable tension.
• Work with engineering, drafting, and production staff to rectify discrepancies.
• Conduct tests on concrete air, slump, temperature, and cylinders.

Skills

Working knowledge of PCI tolerances

Working knowledge of ACI standards

Ability to accurately use tape measure

Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination

Ability to work independently

Education

ACI / PCI certification preferred

Job description

Responsible for verification of form setup accuracy, concrete quality, concrete strength and cable tension. Follow proper practices per ACI and PCI.

Essential Functions

• Read and follow blueprints
• Check forms for accuracy including dimension, details and returns
• Verify reinforcing, hardware placement and hardware size
• Work with engineering, drafting and production staff to rectify discrepancies
• Use equipment and tools properly and safely
• Verify cable tensions per PCI tolerances
• Test concrete air, slump, temperature and cylinders
• Perform lab duties, including break cylinders, rock sieves, and other duties as needed per ACI requirements and specifications
• Keep QC office, lab and testing area clean

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of PCI tolerances and ACI standards
• Working knowledge of Molin SF Standards and finishes
• Bending at waist and/or working in a kneeling position
• Working in adverse weather conditions, including heat and cold
• Walking on uneven surfaces, climb ladders and work on platform
• Understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
• Ability to accurately use tape measure
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
• Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects

Education, Training and Experience

• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
• ACI / PCI certification preferred

Work Context

• Regularly works near moving objects and in climate conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and concrete.
• Noise level may be loud, hearing protection may be required
• Wear respirator when working in acid finishing bay
• Safety/Steel toe boots, hardhat and safety glasses required
• Lift 25 pounds regularly, 40 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally
