Job summary

Leviat is hiring a Quality Control Technician to perform frontline inspections and maintain product quality. You will pull samples, read production drawings, and use precision tools to verify tolerances and document findings on the plant floor.

The role requires reading schematics, understanding metric and English tolerances, and reporting issues promptly. You will ensure containment for non-conforming products, adhere to safety rules, and support continuous improvement initiatives across

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous work in Quality Control/Quality Assurance preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand production drawings.
  • Understanding of metric system and dimensional tolerances.
  • Experience using measuring instruments and test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Pull samples from plant floor and perform frontline inspections.
  • Read production drawings to determine specifications and tolerances.
  • Utilize inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, fillet gauges) to inspect products.
  • Identify and report issues to management for disposition.
  • Ensure containment when discrepancies are found and document results.
  • Perform daily measurements and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Suggest opportunities to improve products and present to management.
  • Verify accuracy of inspection sheet data from production.
  • Maintain quality control reference material for operators.
  • Maintain strong on-floor presence and safety compliance.

Job Description Summary

The Quality Control Technician must be able to perform and maintain front line quality inspections to control the level of product quality delivered to our

customers

  • Work in a fast-paced environment pulling samples from plant floor
  • Read production drawings to determine specifications and tolerances for a variety of machined metal components
  • Able to utilize a wide variety of inspection tools, particularly the use of micrometers, calipers, height gauges, fillet gauges etc. to inspect product
  • Define problems and report all issues with product management for analysis and disposition
  • Ensure that containment activities take place when discrepancies and non-conforming products are identified
  • Perform all daily measurements and checks throughout the plant and maintain accurate documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve product and present to management
  • Verify accuracy of inspection sheet data supplied from production group
  • Ensure quality control reference material for active production is available for operators
  • Strong physical presence on production floor throughout each day; real-time quality awareness at the machine is critical
  • Work will require individual to enter plant areas where performance factors such as heat, humidity, noise, lifting of materials and working around equipment will be encountered
  • Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE
  • Print and assess any changes in Dispatch Reports they may need expediting
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed
Required Skills / Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous work in Quality Control/Quality Assurance, preferred
  • Possess the ability to read and understand production drawings (orthographic projections, lines and symbols)
  • Understanding of metric system preferred
  • Must understand dimensional tolerance in both Metric and English (fraction conversions, decimal to fraction conversion)
  • Working knowledge and ability to use measuring instruments and test equipment
  • Good oral and written communication skills
Physical Environment
  • Capability to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Capability to stand or walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
  • This position may require various physical activities, including but not limited to walking, standing, bending, stretching, and using hands and fingers to grasp, push, and lift items.
