Job summary

Leviat is seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform frontline inspections of steel and plastic products, ensuring adherence to drawings and tolerances. The role requires interpreting production drawings, using calipers and tape measures, and documenting results in the SCADA system.

Responsibilities include identifying nonconformances, conducting product testing per industry specs, and maintaining calibration and QC documentation to support safe, high-quality manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, fabrication, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret production drawings, including orthographic projections, dimensions, lines, symbols, and other drawing specifications.
  • Basic understanding of dimensional tolerances and the ability to work with Imperial units, including fractions, decimals, and fraction-to-decimal conversions.
  • Basic understanding of the metric system is preferred.
  • Working knowledge and ability to properly use common inspection and measuring equipment, including calipers, tape measures, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Outlook.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured steel and plastic products, including welded and mechanically assembled components.
  • Verify product dimensions by interpreting production drawings identifying required specifications and tolerances for a variety of components.
  • Able to utilize a wide variety of inspection tools, particularly calipers, height gauges, fillet gauges, tape measures to inspect parts.
  • Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming products or processes, and promptly report findings to management for evaluation and disposition.
  • Perform Product testing as required by Leviat and Industry specifications.
  • Document daily inspections and test results using the company’s SCADA system and communicate inspection findings and other relevant information through email and other digital communication tools.
  • Issue or assist with Nonconformance reports, Root Cause Analysis investigations, Corrective Actions and maintain appropriate quality documentation.
  • Verify corrective actions have been implemented and are effective.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and traceability of material lot numbers used in the manufacturing of both locally produced and outsourced products.
  • Ensure all testing and inspection equipment remains properly calibrated, and that required QC documentation is current and maintained in accordance with applicable ICC requirements.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE
  • Maintain a clean and organized Quality Control work area
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
  • Support production personnel as needed by ensuring critical product components, specifications, and quality requirements are clearly understood and followed.
