Description

Quality Control Technician

Polytek Development Corp. is a leading manufacturer of mold making and casting materials. We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and organized individual to join our expanding team.

Essential Job Functions

Major responsibilities include:

1. Performing QC tests on incoming raw materials and production samples as per QC SOP.
2. Mixing and curing test samples.
3. Running titrations, viscosity, and hardness measurements.
4. Operating analytical equipment (FTIR, TGA, rheometer, DSC).
5. Handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous chemicals safely.
6. Conducting physical property testing (viscosity, specific gravity, tensile/tear strength).
7. Testing and inspecting for customer returns, complaints, and product non-conformance.
8. Performing additional tests for off-spec raw materials and batches, including soak tests and product application tests.
9. Collaborating with production on pilot batches and issues.
10. Generating weekly QC reports.
11. Maintaining a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
12. Organizing and maintaining QC retain and cured samples.
13. Understanding product hazards via training and SDS review.
14. Wearing PPE and following safety protocols, reporting concerns immediately.
15. Performing other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

• Ability to work in a laboratory environment.
• Climb ladders, lift up to 8 lbs regularly, up to 40 lbs occasionally.
• Bend, squat, walk, stand, handle, reach, and ascend/descend stairs/ladders as needed.
• Good vision (including color, peripheral, depth, focus) and communication abilities.
• Wear PPE in lab or manufacturing areas.

Education and Experience

• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field.
• 1-3 years QC experience in chemical manufacturing is a plus.
• Knowledge of quality processes and statistical techniques.
• Flexible schedule, including occasional overtime.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
