Job summary

Employment Solutions of New York, Inc. in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking a Quality Control Technician for 2nd shift (4:15 PM – 2:45 AM).

You will perform in-process inspections, dimensional measurements with calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, height gauges, and other equipment to ensure parts meet customer specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will read and interpret engineering drawings, maintain quality documentation, communicate with Quality/Engineering/Manufacturing

Qualifications

• 2 years of quality experience is a plus but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience using inspection equipment and measurement tools is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication skills and solid math skills.
• Excellent attendance and reliability; self-motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process inspections and complete required inspection documentation.
• Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, height gauges, and other measurement equipment.
• Perform visual inspections to identify defects and ensure parts meet customer specifications.
• Prepare and complete first-article and last-article inspections.
• Maintain organized measurement and quality documentation.
• Communicate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams regarding customer drawing requirements.
• Assist with troubleshooting quality and measurement issues.
• Train new team members on equipment and procedures when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of operating procedures and quality processes.

This position is responsible for performing inspections and measurements on current die-casting projects to ensure parts meet customer specifications and quality standards.The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, good math skills, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
