Summary

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring NWF’s standards of quality and safety on all finished products.

Essential Functions

1. Evaluate finished products for quality and acceptability, performing all necessary analysis according to product specifications.
2. Communicate product quality issues to relevant staff including Production Supervisors, Managers, QC Manager & Supervisor, and customer service.
3. Log analysis test results and batch information in the I-Series (AS400) and maintain records for compliance.
4. Monitor line equipment for functionality, safety, and cleanliness.
5. Conduct metal detector, magnet, scale checks, and critical control point & GMP audits.
6. Assist in foreign material and non-conformance investigations.
7. Perform batch setup checks, assist with corrections, and log discrepancies.
8. Place products on hold or reject as necessary, completing relevant documentation with root cause analysis.
9. Check allergen clean-out effectiveness as needed.
10. Perform Pre-Op audits when necessary, such as during equipment maintenance.
11. Conduct production scale checks and calibrate lab equipment per schedule.
12. Collect micro samples and handle micro hold products appropriately.
13. Perform special tasks assigned by QC manager.
14. Maintain retain sample area and control sample files.
15. Follow GMPs and safety procedures.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma or GED with 1-2 years related experience.
2. Ability to operate quality control analysis equipment.
3. Fluency in spoken and written English.
4. Mathematical skills.
5. Proficiency in computer and data processing skills.
6. Ability to climb ladders and work on platforms.
7. Able to lift 50 pounds.
