Day Shift - Monday to Thursday, 5am to 3:00pm, 20-minute paid lunch, OT on Friday

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE: This position assists the Warranty Manager in managing the Quality In-process and Final Inspection/Testing program. It requires a hands-on professional with a successful track record in planning, executing, and monitoring quality assurance/control projects and continuous process improvement. The role includes leading internal rework investigations and documentation within the quality system.

This employee will support the Operations team with product quality and continuous improvement, focusing on internal process controls, equipment support, and tooling development, all while adhering to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics.

  1. Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas to determine quality and reliability standards.
  2. Develop and update quality check sheets; document and communicate results, actions, and deviations.
  3. Participate in the SWAT process and update management on quality tasks; document findings in CAPA (Warranty) database.
  4. Apply quality tools and troubleshooting strategies to resolve issues.
  5. Implement and monitor process improvement initiatives to enhance product and process capability.
  6. Analyze manufacturing processes, implementing strategies to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  7. Conduct on-site audits, including final acceptance inspections and in-process inspections.
  8. Train and develop team skills; collaborate with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
  9. Develop and update metrics to meet goals.
  10. Establish communication channels with customers for interface and feedback.
  11. Ensure quality integration into project management and proper documentation of CAPAs and ECRs.
  12. Maintain excellent communication and teamwork with internal and external stakeholders.
  13. Provide quality tools and methodologies training across the organization.
  14. Test products at specified stages for quality indicators.
  15. Update and create SOPs to document quality procedures.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

  • Communication Skills: Comfortable interacting with all levels; may need to present in groups.
  • Computer Skills: Basic Windows and MS Office; proficiency in Excel, CAD, CMM advantageous.
  • Education: Knowledge of quality systems, MIG welding, fabrication, Lean, GD&T, and SPC fundamentals.
  • Experience: 5+ years in Quality Control/Assurance; 3+ years in welding industry preferred.
  • Internal Qualifications: Ability to implement programs, create/enhance quality programs, and possess a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform measurements, calculations, and interpret data visually.
  • Reasoning Ability: Mechanical aptitude, decision-making confidence, detail orientation, flexibility, leadership, and change management skills.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to interpret engineering prints, experience with fixtures, machine tools, and fabrication equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Lift/push up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending, lifting, standing required
  • Exposure to noise, welding, and grinding smoke at times
