Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions in Fallon, NV seeks a qualified Quality Control Inspector to oversee contract compliance and inspections. You will inspect contractor work, coordinate with QAE and subcontractors, and support environmental and safety requirements on site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain CAC/DBIDS and pass background checks.
• 5+ years experience in facility services contracts or construction.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Knowledge of construction trades and government contracting.

Responsibilities

• Inspect work performed by contractors to identify flaws or deviations.
• Coordinate with customer QAE personnel on quality/quantity matters.
• Inspect vendor subcontractors performing work for the project.
• Coordinate with subcontractor managers to ensure quality workmanship and on-time completion.
• Report to the Quality Control Manager on surveys, inspections, and observations.
• Ensure sampling inspections are performed and documented within time constraints.
• Verify and define customer complaints; represent management in resolution.
• Research and recommend resolutions to customer issues.
• Perform environmental compliance inspections (Lead Paint, Asbestos, Mold, PCB).
• Support Safety Officer with site/shop/workplace safety tasks.
• Assist in site project research and evaluation as needed.
• Act as liaison to Government QAE.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Overview

Generally responsible for all contract and regulatory compliance and construction inspections as required. Inspects work in progress and finished work for discrepancies in accordance with the Quality Control Plan and contract requirements. Completes necessary inspection reports and documentation required to support findings.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

• Inspects work accomplished by contract and subcontractor personnel, to identify any flaws or
• Coordinates with customer QAE personnel on matters relating to the quality or quantity of contractor
• Inspects vendor subcontractors performing work for or on behalf of CLFS at this project
• Coordinates with subcontractor functional managers and supervisors to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of all
• Reports to the Quality Control Manager on accomplishments, and results of surveys, inspections, and observations relating to performance of CLFS and subcontractor
• Ensure scheduled and random sampling inspections are performed and documented within assigned time constraints.
• Verifies and defines customer complaints, represents management in the

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (G.E.D.)
• Ability to speak, read, and write English, to include language of a technical nature.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid State issued Driver’s License.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check to obtain and maintain a CAC Card and/or DBIDS credential as required by the Contract.
• Five years broad experience in support facility services contracts, preferably in field maintenance operations, or construction.
• Working knowledge of all general construction activities and trades.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point; exceptional administrative and organizational skills.
• Possess an OSHA 10 card or have the ability to get one within the first 90 days of employment.
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines; flexible and adaptable to ensure mission completion.
• Ability to communicate ideas effectively with personnel at all levels.
• Knowledge of Government contracting terminology and applications.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance.
• US Citizenship.

Preferred:

• Completion of the US Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management for Contractors training course.
• Two (2) years’ experience in quality control spreadsheet reporting that included knowledge of government contracting requirements and engineering terminology.
• MAXIMO experience;
• AutoCAD experience;
• Previous project management experience;
• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields;
• Experience working with Governmental agencies, Base Operations Support (BOS) contracting.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoors work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
• Work hours are subject to change, with overtime work as needed.
• Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust odors and elevated noise levels.
• Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hand and soft‑carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.

Physical Requirements:

While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs and ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell.
