Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support safety processes and assist the QA Manager at our Chesapeake facility in Portsmouth, VA. The role emphasizes inspections, data analysis, and adherence to quality standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required active SECRET clearance, US citizenship, familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and NAVSEA standards, and the ability to obtain NDT training.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active SECRET security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Willing to comply with ISO 9001:2015 clauses and NAVSEA standards.
• Willing to obtain Nondestructive Testing training (certification not required).
• Some knowledge in welding; OSHA regulations and accident reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and project management.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

Responsibilities

• Ensures inspections are scheduled and performed as required; reviews data for customer satisfaction.
• Designs inspection and testing mechanisms and performs statistical analysis.
• Confer with management to determine quality and reliability standards and propose modifications.
• Conducts internal audits/surveillances to ensure adherence to procedures in quality control and safety.
• Conduct and chair periodic quality management reviews.
• Maintain a safe work environment; ensure PPE training and certifications.
• Ensure fire prevention equipment is inspected and ready for use.

Job Overview

Chugach is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician who will be involved in ensuring the quality and reliability of our safety processes, while working side by side with the Quality Assurance Manager for minimal support in the day-to-day operations at the Chesapeake facility.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

• Ensures inspections are scheduled and performed as required and reviews all data to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Designs inspection and testing mechanisms and performs statistical analysis
• Confers with management to determine quality and reliability standards and recommends modifications of existing standards.
• Conducts internal audits/surveillances to ensure adherence to company procedures/policy in areas of quality control, safety, and training.
• Conduct and Chair periodic quality management reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible to maintain a safe work environment within the organization
• Ensure personnel are trained on the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and is available for their use.
• Ensure personnel are trained and certified to perform skills required by the organization
• Ensure fire prevention equipment within the organization is inspected and ready for use.
• Handle highly complex tasks uncovering and resolving problems associated with the analysis and development of technical specifications for enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems.
• Document ideas and present them to peers and customers.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

• Active SECRET Security Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship
• Willing to comply with:
• ISO 9001:2015 clauses and subclauses
• NAVSEA Standard Items - current fiscal year
• AIT Maintenance Manual 9090-310H APP 4
• Quality Systems, In process work instructions and forms
• Must be willing to obtain Nondestructive Testing - visual inspections formal training (certification not required, we will certify)
• Some knowledge in welding, Safety, specifically OSHA regulations / record keeping and accident reporting.
• Microsoft excel, word, PPT and Project Management
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

Working Conditions:

• The candidate must be able to work at a desk and computer for long periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
