Position Overview:

The Technical Service Coordinator is a developmental role focused on maintaining the quality management system and coordinating concrete and aggregate materials analysis. This role offers exposure to various parts of the group, including Dufferin Aggregates, Dufferin Concrete, Ontario Ready Mix, and the CRH cement plant. The ideal candidate is a strong performer who can work independently and collaboratively within a team. This is a one-year contract position.

Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain the quality management system to ensure consistent laboratory operations and meet quality KPIs.
  2. Coordinate with laboratory and field technicians, as well as third-party labs, to communicate quality objectives and results.
  3. Sample and test concrete and aggregate materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
  4. Assist with annual CCIL recertification and MTO proficiency testing.
  5. Operate and calibrate equipment, including preventive maintenance.
  6. Maintain daily records of all test data.
  7. Generate laboratory reports and analyze statistical data.
  8. Identify issues and opportunities for continuous improvement based on quality metrics.
  9. Manage laboratory consumables inventory.
  10. Handle invoices and SAP procurement processes.
Requirements:
  • Safety-conscious with knowledge of OH&S policies and regulations.
  • Diploma or Degree in Civil, Geological, Material Engineering, Construction, Chemical Technology, or registered with The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering and Applied Science Technicians and Technologists.
  • Knowledge of concrete and aggregate testing is an asset.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to multitask, be flexible, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat, cold, dust, and noise.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Valid G driver’s license required.
  • Willingness to travel to plants and job sites.
