Job summary

Alpine Silica in Louisiana is seeking a Quality Control professional to manage the Quality Laboratory operations, including wet and dry sand processing, testing, and record-keeping.

Responsibilities include performing quality tests, auditing and inspecting finished sand products, supporting Production Manager, preparing samples, reporting quality problems, and helping train Lab Technicians; must promote a safe, compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent minimally required; four-year degree or a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a Quality Control position or lab, preferred.
• Must be able to work independently, as a member of team, and as a team leader.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality testing of sand materials and keeps accurate records of results.
• Performs auditing and inspection activities in order to ensure that quality targets are met for all finished Alpine Silica sand product shipped to customers.
• Provides direct lab support to Production Manager and may assists with day-to-day operations of Loadout.
• Prepares sand samples as needed.
• Communicates quality-problems to plant management. Analyzing, identifying and communicating problematic trends, e.g. recurring first pass issues.
• Establishes testing procedures and protocols for quality control and may provide training to Lab Technicians/Loadout Operators, who sample, test and document materials that are mined, processed or shipped.
• Focuses on creating a safety culture that utilizes safe work practices, maintaining a safe and clean work area.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
