Thalle Construction Co., Inc. (“Thalle”) is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician. This position is located at our regional office in Austin, Texas.

Thalle, established in 1947, is a heavy civil construction company with a corporate office in Hillsborough, NC, and a regional office in Alvarado, Texas. We undertake construction projects throughout the Southeast, Texas, and New Jersey, with growth nationwide. Our diverse project scope includes dams, reservoirs, locks, DOT roadway construction and bridges, utilities, landfills, mass excavation, wastewater, and emergency services.

Regional Office Location: Austin, Texas

Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Salary: Top pay for experienced and proven performers, negotiable based on experience.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for overall quality control (QC) of the project.
  2. Assist with implementation of Project QA/QC Program and monitor for compliance.
  3. Review and understand contract specifications, scope of work, and exclusions outlined in the contract and related industry standards.
  4. Conduct inspections of workmanship and materials.
  5. Administer the overall quality and assurance program.
  6. Act in all quality assurance and control matters for the Company.
  7. File reports and photo documentation.
  8. Attend contractor QA/QC meetings and monitor issues and concerns noted in the meeting minutes.
  9. Conduct business with 100% integrity and professionalism.
Education And/or Work Experience Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  2. 1-3 years of heavy civil construction experience, preferably in dam, reservoir, landfill, wastewater treatment plants.
  3. Experience and knowledge of Army Corps of Engineers projects.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  5. Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Organization and planning skills.
  7. Strong oral, consultative, and written communication skills.
  8. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management.
  9. Ability to establish trust and interface effectively with Owners and Customers.
Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other standards, including meeting productivity standards.
  2. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  3. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  4. Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
