Position Details

Location: Alabaster, AL

Pay Range: $18.00/hr - $22.00/hr

Job Summary

The Quality Control Technician will ensure adherence to production processes and quality standards, maintaining quality assurance processes, testing products, and analyzing results. The role supports facilities in Bessemer and Alabaster.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Approve incoming materials, conduct visual and measurement tests, reject unacceptable materials.
  2. Approve in-process production, communicate adjustments to production supervisor.
  3. Approve finished products, conduct tests, manage re-work processes.
  4. Submit and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  5. Document inspection results, summarize re-work and waste, input data into quality database.
  6. Participate in educational opportunities and stay updated with technical publications.
  7. Complete related tasks to support quality and organizational goals.
Requirements
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 2 years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (preferred).
  3. Visual acuity of 20/30 or better.
  4. Ability to read blueprints and understand specifications.
  5. Experience with Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) is desirable.
  6. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME B30, AWS, SSPC, NEC).
  7. Strong systematic and logical work skills.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  9. Good communication skills.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Work at multiple locations in non-controlled environments.
  • Required PPE includes hard hat, safety-toe shoes, hearing and eye protection.
  • Standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting are involved.
  • Tasks may be repetitive with few breaks.

Additional Information

Sign-On Bonuses for all hourly manufacturing personnel: $150 after 2 weeks, $350 after 6 months, $500 after 12 months, contingent on attendance and discipline standards.
