Job summary

The Central Valley Meat Company Inc. in Hanford, CA is seeking a Quality Control Technician – Level 1 to perform routine inspections across production processes, ensuring compliance with GMPs, USDA guidelines, and internal standards.

You will document findings, support hold decisions, and assist with hold transfers and quality databases. The role requires attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment on site.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years in manufacturing or quality control.
• Proficient computer skills; experience with quality databases preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and math skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure GMPs are followed on the production floor.
• Verify allergen control procedures and sanitation.
• Conduct in-process quality checks per schedules.
• Review production inspection records for corrective action.
• Verify packaging, labeling, and marking of finished goods.
• Perform final inspections of finished products.
• Collect and test product samples to validate quality.
• Communicate issues related to rework and transfers to management.
• Prepare and log customer and third-party samples.
• Respond to inquiries regarding quality records and documentation.
• Maintain and update quality databases and logs.
• Report suspicious behavior or plant security issues.
• Take proactive measures to prevent nonconformities.
• Stop processing of nonconforming products until resolved.
• Escalate food safety or quality concerns to leadership.
• Support Hold Program including tracking and transfers.
• Generate daily hold inventory and shipment reports.
• Conduct physical inventories of product in hold locations.
• Perform other tasks to support goals.
