Job summary

Red River Commodities, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support in-plant inspections, sampling, and documentation ensuring sunflower seed products meet internal standards and regulatory requirements. The role emphasizes food safety, production consistency, and traceability.

You will verify processes, communicate issues in real time, and assist with audits, recalls, and staff training, all while following safety guidelines and PPE requirements in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing or quality control
• Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, SQF, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures
• Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across departments
• Comfortable working in a production environment with exposure to allergens, noise, and temperature variation

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods on the production floor
• Collect and prepare product samples for third-party laboratory testing
• Monitor and verify critical control points (CCPs) and ensure compliance with HACCP and GMP standards
• Perform visual checks for foreign material, packaging integrity, labeling accuracy, and allergen control
• Document inspection results, deviations, and corrective actions in accordance with QA protocols
• Communicate quality concerns to production and QA leadership promptly
• Support traceability efforts by maintaining sample retention logs and batch records
• Assist with internal audits, mock recalls, and third-party inspections
• Help train production staff on quality and food safety procedures
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE
• Other duties as assigned
