Job summary

Pure Flavor is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor in Romulus, MI to lead the QA team and ensure high-quality vegetables meet customer and regulatory standards. The role oversees inspectors, enforces food safety programs, and coordinates with multiple departments to prevent quality issues.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of QA/food safety experience, GMP/HACCP knowledge, and strong leadership. The position requires working in a refrigerated warehouse and coordinating shift coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in QA/food safety preferred.
• 2+ years quality assurance or food safety experience, produce industry preferred.
• Knowledge of GMP, Health & Safety, HACCP principles and PrimusGFS program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP experience with FAMOUS preferred.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team; strong analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the quality team, manage performance, scheduling and training.
• Define quality methods, assign tasks, and supervise day-to-day activities.
• Address non-conformances with relevant departments and implement corrective actions.
• Develop quality processes, root cause analysis and control charts.
• Supervise quality control team for inbound, transfers, and purchases.
• Support food safety certifications and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with commodities, sales, shipping, production and food safety teams.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and company data.
