Quality Control Supervisor

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervises and coordinates workers engaged in inspection, met lab, and calibration activities.
  • Manages performance, interviews, and selects prospective employees while maintaining time and production records.
  • Is responsible for consumable spending, delivery metrics, risk assessment, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) for assigned areas.
  • Collaborates with engineering and production to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
  • Meets or exceeds production and quality requirements for the business.
  • Drives continuous improvement through Barnes Enterprise System (BES) principles and practices.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment, ensuring equipment is operated and maintained per TPM specifications.
  • Anticipates and troubleshoots problems with orders and/or equipment, collaborating with other supervisors and cross‑functional team members for resolution.
  • Ensures established policies, rules, and procedures are followed and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establishes, communicates and monitors daily, weekly, and monthly objectives for employees.
  • Oversees and promotes safe use of equipment and overall safety culture.
  • Coordinates production efforts with supervision and other shifts or business units to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Assists Quality and Process Engineering on activities such as FAIs, concessions, NPI, PPAP, GR&R, and PFEMA.
  • Anticipates and resolves problems based on what is best for the customer and the division.
  • Acts with integrity and the highest ethical behavior, demonstrating Barnes’ values and balancing consistency with flexibility and willingness to adapt to new ideas.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in an aerospace quality role, including supervisory or lead position.
  • Team player with the ability to motivate or inspire the team to drive and achieve key operating initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance systems, processes, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection equipment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, GD&T, procedures, and standards and apply them.
  • Excellent communication and proven positive employee relations skills.
Education Requirements:
  • BA or BS in a technical field preferred; or equivalent work experience.
