Superintendents: what if you didn't just run the job, you set the standard for it?
MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL 100% OF THE TIME FOR EXTENDED PERIODS. This is an absolute requirement.
IES Communications is hiring a Quality Control Superintendent to support large-scale data center projects in multiple hyperscale data centers in the south and southeast.
This is the next step up for a low-voltage Site Superintendent who's ready to stop running one crew and take charge of quality across the whole program. You'll be the person in the field who makes the final call on installation quality. Customers, project teams and IES leadership will count on you to get it right the first time.
What you'll own
Quality control and inspection
- Build site-specific Quality Plans and Site Startup processes for each project
- Lead First-of-Kind (FOK) installations, inspect them and get final customer approval
- Lead daily field walks to catch issues early and verify work matches approved FOK standards
- Manage customer and IES quality checklists from scheduling through completion
- Enforce quality standards and drive corrective action when they aren't met
Customer and leadership interface
- Report project quality health each week and raise risks before they become problems
- Lead walkthroughs with customers and IES leadership
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for quality questions and concerns
Field leadership and training
- Coach crews and field leaders on installation, material handling and testing, both in the classroom and in the field
- Raise craftsmanship across security, access control, CCTV, audio/mass notification, life safety, structured cabling and fiber
- Troubleshoot technical issues and partner with the Training Department to strengthen programs
Continuous improvement
- Find process gaps and put fixes in place that raise quality and business performance
What you bring
- Ability to travel 100% of the time for extended periods (required)
- 5+ years as a Site Superintendent or senior field leader in low voltage, security systems, telecom, electrical or a related construction field
- Quality control, inspection or field training experience (strongly preferred)
- Mission critical or data center experience (preferred)
- Strong ability to read blueprints, specifications and quality requirements
- Working knowledge of RS232, RS485, Ethernet and TCP/IP
- Clear communication and the ability to lead by example on safety, quality and customer satisfaction
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Project
- Must meet Company driving standards
Why this is your next move
- Go from running a crew to owning quality across the full program
- Work directly with customers and IES operations leadership
- Help write the Quality Plans and standards every crew builds to
- Build the leadership experience that leads to senior operations roles
