Job description

IES is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) to play a critical role in supporting large-scale, mission-critical construction projects. This is an opportunity to become a subject matter expert who directly influences installation quality, workforce development, and project success across some of the industry's most complex low-voltage environments.

In this highly visible role, you'll partner with operations leaders, project teams, and customers to drive quality excellence, develop skilled tradespeople, and ensure every installation meets the highest standards of performance and craftsmanship.

If you're ready to lead by example, elevate field performance, and make a lasting impact across multiple projects, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do
Drive Quality Excellence
  • Conduct field quality inspections, audits, and project walkthroughs to ensure compliance with project specifications, installation standards, and customer expectations.
  • Identify quality risks early and work with project teams to implement corrective actions before issues impact project delivery.
  • Support and validate First-of-Kind (FOK) installations, ensuring customer approval and standardization across the project lifecycle.
  • Lead site startup activities and develop project-specific Quality Plans tailored to individual customer and project requirements.
  • Perform daily field walks, documenting observations and monitoring adherence to approved installation standards and best practices.
Develop and Train High-Performing Teams
  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging training programs for both new and experienced low-voltage professionals.
  • Provide classroom instruction, hands-on demonstrations, and in-field coaching focused on installation techniques, material handling, testing procedures, and quality standards.
  • Create structured learning paths that increase technical proficiency, craftsmanship, and overall job performance.
  • Collaborate with the training team to enhance existing programs and launch new learning initiatives that support business growth.
Partner with Operations Leadership
  • Utilize weekly reporting and project metrics to communicate overall project health and quality performance.
  • Identify trends, process gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement across low-voltage scopes.
  • Support project teams by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and quality-focused solutions.
  • Participate in customer meetings, leadership reviews, and project inspections to ensure successful project outcomes.
Manage Quality Documentation
  • Schedule, track, inspect, and complete quality checklists and customer-required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records within both IES and customer-specific quality management platforms.
  • Ensure all quality activities are properly documented and communicated to project stakeholders.
What Success Looks Like
  • Projects consistently meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Installation teams are better trained, more efficient, and technically stronger.
  • Customers experience fewer quality issues and greater confidence in project execution.
  • Field teams follow standardized processes that improve safety, productivity, and craftsmanship.
  • Potential issues are identified and resolved before impacting schedule, budget, or customer satisfaction.
Why Join IES?

At IES, you'll have the opportunity to influence project quality across multiple high-profile construction programs while helping develop the next generation of low-voltage professionals. Your expertise will directly impact customer satisfaction, project success, and the continued growth of our workforce.

This is more than a quality role. It's an opportunity to shape standards, develop people, and leave a lasting mark on every project you support.
