SUMMARY :

The Quality Control Specialist ensures compliance with all established standards in order to meet customer expectations. He will participate in all process improvement activities and validate all changes to ensure their effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance with legal and contractual requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities listed in a satisfactory manner:

• Prepare correspondence, reports of inspections or investigations, and recommendations for action.
• Develops, implements, and maintains the project Quality Control Plan.
• Analyzes defects and negative performance trends to determine root causes of problems.
• Develops and documents corrective action plans in coordination with task area managers or supervisors.
• Conducts surveillance and monitors implementation and effectiveness of corrective action plans.
• Collects, analyzes, and reports performance metrics.
• Conducts quality control inspections to assess and ensure compliance and conformity with contract specifications and procedures.
• Document standardized work instructions in coordination with task area managers and supervisors.
• Provide briefings and presentations to top management regarding quality control inspections and initiatives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
• Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

• Must be able to operate a Personal Computer (PC) with a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (primarily Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Windows graphical user interface) and Data/web-based systems required for task area performing work.
• Must have a working knowledge of Army rank structure and military unit relationships (e.g., Company, Battalion, Brigade, Division, etc).
• Must be able to work under stressful conditions and be physically able to demonstrate the training/support tasks to standard.
• Must able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of Associate degree or Equivalent. College degree is preferred. Preferred military experience includes senior supervision/experience in ensuring adequate quality controls are met. Two (2) years of intensive progressive experience in QA on substantial projects (i.e. technical inspections, technical reviews and validations).

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails and correspondence from inside the organization as well as from external sources. Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to senior management, contracting officials, clients and other employees in the organization.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to organize work, define and solve problems, establish and manage priorities, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions based on facts. The incumbent must be able to analyze a situation analytically, evaluate the facts/data and formulate a plan of action.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must possess a valid U.S. state driver’s license, applicable for the type and class of vehicle being operated. Must have six sigma green belt certification.
