Job description

Quality Control Specialists are responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and proposing measures to correct or improve a company's final products and processes in order to meet established quality standards.Responsibilities:Ensure there is quality testing all the time; carry out inspections so as to meet the standard set by the organizationEncourage and enforce cleanliness on the part of the staff and ensure safe working conditionsFocus on corrective actions in order to make sure that products meet required specificationsInitiate training for workers concerning safety programs to protect employees against work hazardsMaintain all documentation for the purpose of auditingCollect regular samples for shelf life and analysis at the laboratoryWork with the QC Supervisor regarding specific information relating to product information and productionReport bottlenecks to the QC SupervisorEngage in quality calibrations and internal audits in a professional mannerConstant updating of job knowledge by reading technical publications, participating in seminars and other educational opportunitiesMentor lower cadre employees and lead them effectivelyEnsure measuring equipment are functioning properly and calling for repairs where equipment are faultyApprove finished products for onward shipment to the marketCooperate with government agencies during inspections in order to meet and maintain high production standardsWork with the management and production managers to ensure that only quality products are producedEnsure that no expired raw material are used for productionHelp to check and update quality control policiesWork as a team under the supervision of the QC ManagerFind solutions to customers' complaints and feedbacksRemove bad products that are discovered during the production processMonitor every stage of production to avoid product defectsWrite reports and submit said reports to the QC ManagerRecord test results are requiredRecommend modifications to already existing production standards within the limits of available equipment capacity and capabilityProper assessment of suppliersAbilities/Skills/Knowledge Requirements:Good communication and organizational skillsStrong organization skills with attention to detailBasic computer knowledgeKnowledge of data entry and inventory software programsPackaging and material handling experienceBasic math skillsPrevious inventory control experience a plusPrevious quality control experience a plusReliable transportationAbility to lift 75+ lbsAbility to stand for 3+ hours at a time
