Zusammenfassung

UNFI is seeking a Quality Specialist to uphold food safety and quality across the production facility. You will enforce GMPs, verify labels, and conduct microbiological testing while coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.

The role requires at least 3 years of quality experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate across levels. Onsite work at a UNFI site with varied environmental conditions and physical demands.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 3 years in Quality Specialist role or similar.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
• Experience with GMP, HACCP and FDA requirements.

Aufgaben

• Perform production line pre-operational inspections to verify line clearance, sanitation, documentation, and equipment setup per SOPs.
• Monitor HACCP/CCP requirements, including metal detection and oil roasting controls.
• Verify product labels against approved docs and FDA labeling requirements.
• Conduct microbiological, allergen, and product quality testing with proper sample handling and reporting.
• Perform routine in-process quality checks (weight, flavor, bag seams, salt, etc.).
• Review production/quality documentation for accuracy and compliance; escalate discrepancies.
• Inspect incoming materials and COAs; maintain supplier documentation and records.
• Investigate customer complaints, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
• Prepare COAs, product specs, nutritional info for customers and internal partners.
• Maintain retained samples per procedures; support sales with product samples.
• Promote GMP compliance and sanitation and train new associates on food safety and GMP requirements.
• Participate in Food Safety, Safety, HACCP, and Crisis Management teams.
• Maintain qualifications to serve as FDA Qualified Individual and SQF Practitioner as required.
