Job summary

BD is seeking a Quality Control professional for our Hunt Valley, MD site to perform routine and non-routine QC testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products in a GMP/GDP/GLP environment, including safe handling of hazardous materials and operation of laboratory equipment.

You will document results in SAP and other systems, support investigations into out-of-specification results, contribute to SOP updates, and collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing and Scientific

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology or other related Life Science.
• 1 year practical experience in Microbiological or medical technology laboratory.
• Laboratory related certificate from accredited institution (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine quality control testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products in accordance with SOPs and product specifications.
• Safely handle hazardous materials, including chemicals and infectious agents, while following safety policies.
• Conduct testing of organisms requiring Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) containment with strict safety requirements.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate testing and reliable performance.
• Accurately document test results, observations, and activities in laboratory records and SAP.
• Support investigations of out-of-specification (OOS) results by identifying potential root causes and contributing to corrective actions.
• Participate in development, review, and revision of SOPs, test methods and quality documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality processes and laboratory operations.
• Ensure GMP, GDP, GLP compliance and adherence to company policies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, and Scientific Operations teams.
