Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Quality Control Manager / Safety Officer in Virginia Beach to lead QA/QC programs and safety initiatives on government construction projects. You will oversee project lifecycles, direct engineers and superintendents, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

You will collaborate with NAVFAC/Army Corps, conduct risk assessments, and implement robust safety audits and investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction project management, preferably government.
• Experience working with NAVFAC and/or Army Corps.
• Knowledge of construction safety regulations, OSHA 10/30.
• Experience conducting safety audits, job hazard analyses and incident investigations.
• Strong skills in risk management and quality control.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.

Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Oversee all stages of project life cycle, including the management of quality control, budgeting, scheduling, and procurement.
• Direct and supervise work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities.
• Work closely with NAVFAC and/or Army Corps to ensure all construction activities align with government standards and regulations.
• Develop and implement project risk management plans to identify potential hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
• Conduct regular safety audits, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Develop and enforce comprehensive QA/QC plans to ensure quality in all construction activities.
• Maintain effective communication with contractors, construction managers, and government representatives.
• Ensure project compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, including those related to environmental health and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management, preferably in the government sector.
• Demonstrated experience working with NAVFAC and/or Army Corps.
• Thorough knowledge of construction safety regulations and practices, including OSHA 10 and OSHA 30.
• Proven experience in conducting safety audits, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations.
• Strong skills in risk management and quality control.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
