Job summary

Grunley Construction is seeking a Quality Control Manager to ensure top-tier quality and compliance with materials and workmanship across projects. The role reports to senior leadership and interfaces with onsite teams, requiring a strong track record in QA/QC for major construction programs.

Ideal candidates possess a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or an equivalent combination) and a USACE CQM certificate, along with citizenship clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; five years construction experience, or an associate’s degree with ten years experience.
• Current USACE CQM Management Certificate.
• US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop Quality Control Plan for submission.
• Review and approve work plans.
• Review and approve product submissions.
• Plan for and conduct Three–Phase Inspection Program: Preparatory Meetings, Initial Phase Inspections, Follow-up Inspections, Final Phase Inspections.
• Maintain site‑specific test log and ensure materials comply with contract requirements.
• Prepare and maintain daily reports.
• Provide Safety Assistance: document accidents/photos and coordinate with Safety Department.

The Quality Control Manager will assure that Grunley Construction provides the highest quality of construction services and that we will meet or exceed all stated requirements in which we are involved with respect to materials and workmanship. The Quality Control Manager has authority granted by the President of Grunley Construction

Reports to: Vice President & General Manager. Day-to-day activities are coordinated with the onsite Superintendent, Project Manager, and Project Executive as appropriate.

Requirements

• Required Education and Experience
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of construction experience or an associate’s degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience. Must have working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures and practices with the Corp of Engineers. This position requires a successful track record in all aspects of construction and construction practices.

  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain contemporaneous daily reports summarizing information regarding all of the above
• Safety Assistance
  • Photo documentation of all job‑site accidents/incidents scenes prior to any disturbance of the scene (to include persons involved in the accident and the surrounding areas)
  • Coordinate additional photography with the Safety Department
  • Download the photos within 24 hours of the accident with annotation for use by the Safety Department

The salary range for this role will be $90,000.00-$165,000.00.
