Job summary

Grunley Construction Company, Inc. seeks a Quality Control Manager to assure top-tier quality and compliance on complex projects.

The role carries authority granted by the President and interacts with the on-site Superintendent, Project Manager, and Project Executive to ensure workmanship and materials meet project requirements. Responsibilities include submittal management, multi-phase inspections, site quality checks, daily reports, and safety support.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of construction experience or an associate’s degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience.
• Working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures with the US Army Corps of Engineers.
• A successful track record in all aspects of construction and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Submittal management: develop Quality Control Plan, review and approve work plans and product submissions.
• Plan and conduct a three-phase inspection program with preparatory, initial, follow-up and final inspections.
• Quality control inspections: maintain site test logs, verify materials against submittals and contract requirements, document non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Prepare, distribute and maintain contemporaneous daily reports summarizing site activities.
• Provide safety support with photo documentation of incidents and coordinate with Safety Department.

The Quality Control Manager will assure that Grunley Construction provides the highest quality of construction services and that we will meet or exceed all stated requirements in which we are involved with respect to materials and workmanship. The Quality Control Manager has authority granted by the President of Grunley Construction.

Reports to: Vice President & General Manager. Day-to-day activities are coordinated with the onsite Superintendent, Project Manager, and Project Executive as appropriate.

Requirements

• Required Education and Experience
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of construction experience or an associate’s degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience. • Daily Reports
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain contemporaneous daily reports summarizing information regarding all of the above
• Safety Assistance
  • Photo documentation of all job-site accidents/incidents scenes prior to any disturbance of the scene (to include persons involved in the accident and the surrounding areas)
  • Coordinate additional photography with the Safety Department
  • Download the photos within 24 hours of the accident with annotation for use by the Safety Department

The salary range for this role will be $90,000.00-$165,000.00.
