Responsibilities

• Own overall quality of parts moving into inventory.
• Establish and maintain standards for identification, condition, grading, labeling, and documentation.
• Ensure standards are applied across locations, shifts, and teams.
• Inspect and audit parts to verify they meet standards before inventory.
• Identify non-conforming parts and determine disposition (rework/return).
• Lead, train, and coach Quality Control staff.
• Develop and maintain inspection procedures and checklists.
• Conduct regular quality audits and identify gaps in compliance.
• Monitor quality metrics such as defect and return rates.
• Analyze quality issues and customer feedback to identify trends.
• Perform root-cause analysis with dismantling/operations leadership.
• Partner with Dismantling to improve quality at the source.
• Work with Warehouse Ops, Inventory Control, and Sales on quality issues.
• Identify opportunities to reduce defects and rework.
• Implement process improvements for consistency and efficiency.
• Communicate quality trends and corrective actions to leadership.
• Ensure adherence to quality, handling, and safety procedures.

My Auto Store is looking for an experienced Quality Control Manager with a strong background in the automotive industry to lead quality standards for used automotive parts moving from dismantling operations into the warehouse. This is a hands‑on quality leadership role focused on improving the quality of parts, establishing consistent standards, and ensuring those standards are followed across all locations and shifts. The ideal candidate has previously worked in an auto body shop, automotive parts operation, collision repair environment, dismantling operation, or similar automotive setting and understands how parts should be evaluated for condition, completeness, damage, and usability. You should be comfortable identifying quality issues, determining why they are occurring, and working with operations teams to fix the problem at its source. This position is not simply an inspection role. The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for building a culture of quality, improving processes, holding teams accountable to established standards, and reducing defects, rework, returns, and customer complaints. This position pays $75 – 90k/yr.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the overall quality of parts moving from the dismantling operation into warehouse inventory.
• Establish and maintain consistent standards for part identification, condition, completeness, grading, labeling, and documentation.
• Ensure quality standards are consistently applied across all locations, shifts, and teams.
• Inspect and audit parts to verify they meet company standards before being placed into inventory and made available for sale.
• Identify parts that do not meet standards and determine the appropriate disposition, including correction, rework, or return to dismantling.
• Lead, train, coach, and hold Quality Control employees accountable for meeting established standards.
• Develop and maintain inspection procedures, quality checklists, work instructions, and standardized processes.
• Conduct regular quality audits and identify gaps in compliance.
• Monitor quality performance metrics, including defect rates, rejection rates, rework, first-pass quality, returns, and customer complaints.
• Analyze quality issues and customer feedback to identify trends and recurring problems.
• Perform root-cause analysis and work with Dismantling and Operations leadership to implement corrective actions.
• Partner with Dismantling leadership to improve quality at the source, rather than relying solely on downstream inspection.
• Work closely with Warehouse Operations, Inventory Control, and Sales to resolve quality issues affecting inventory accuracy, customer satisfaction, returns, and warranty claims.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, eliminate recurring defects, and reduce unnecessary rework and scrap.
• Develop and implement process improvements that increase consistency, efficiency, and overall part quality.
• Communicate quality trends, performance, recurring issues, and corrective actions to Operations leadership.
• Ensure employees follow established quality, handling, and safety procedures.
• Participate in operational meetings and provide recommendations related to quality and process improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in automotive, automotive parts, auto body/collision repair, dismantling, warehouse quality control, manufacturing quality, or a related environment.
• Previous experience receiving, inspecting, evaluating, or handling automotive parts.
• Strong understanding of automotive part condition and quality standards.
• At least 2 years of experience supervising, leading, training, or managing employees.
• Experience performing quality inspections, audits, or working with standardized quality processes.
• Demonstrated ability to identify quality problems, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and inconsistencies.
• Ability to establish, communicate, and enforce standards.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse/automotive environment
