Job summary

Staffmark Group in Oakdale, CA is seeking a seasoned Quality Control Manager to lead inspection and compliance in our fabrication facility. You will verify welds, monitor quality metrics, and ensure products meet contract specifications before shipment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in quality control for structural steel fabrication
• Knowledge of fabrication standards, welding procedures, codes, and industry regulations

• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect shop production daily to ensure contract specifications are met
• Track repairs, non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and quality metrics
• Submit weld submittals and develop weld procedures
• Verify incoming materials meet quality requirements
• Review drawings and prepare RFIs before project kickoff
• Coordinate inspections with shop leadership and third-party inspectors
• Conduct welder qualification testing and maintain certification records
• Prepare for and support annual AISC audits
• Perform dimensional, visual, paint, and weld inspections
• Maintain inspection records and quality documentation
• Identify drawing discrepancies and coordinate resolutions with project teams
• Support production teams with quality standards and fabrication requirements

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to walk the shop floor for extended periods
• Ability to inspect welds, fabricated materials, and finished products
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb as needed
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and fabrication environment
