Job summary

JMJ Phillip Group represents a prominent chemical manufacturer in the Greater Michigan City area seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead the quality function at a chemical manufacturing facility.

You will oversee a team of about six quality professionals and provide technical leadership across QC, laboratory operations, process improvement, and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Engineering with 7+ years of quality experience in chemical manufacturing or related environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience with ISO 9001, quality management systems, statistical analysis, and chemical manufacturing processes is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Develop: Manage, coach, and mentor QC professionals and lab technicians while building a strong quality culture.
• Quality & Continuous Improvement: Lead quality programs, audits, corrective actions, SPC, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost of poor quality and ensure product compliance.
• Plant & Customer Quality: Oversee product disposition, specifications, inspection processes, supplier quality, and quality metrics while partnering cross-functionally with Operations and R&D.

• Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Engineering with 7+ years of quality experience in chemical manufacturing, specialty chemicals, coatings, adhesives, sealants, or related environments. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills required.
• Technical Requirements: SAP experience is required; SAP S/4HANA strongly preferred. Experience with ISO 9001, quality management systems, statistical analysis, and chemical manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
