The Field Supervisor / Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing installation quality across multiple job sites, managing inspections, and serving as the primary connection between field crews, office operations, and builders or clients. This role is essential to maintaining high standards, preventing rework, and protecting project profitability through strong leadership, proactive quality control, and clear communication.
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Oversight
- Supervise multiple job sites to ensure work is completed according to established standards, specifications, and safety requirements
- Lead and support installation crews to maintain productivity, professionalism, and quality workmanship
- Enforce field policies, procedures, and performance expectations
- Serve as the on-site leadership representative for projects
Quality Control & Inspections
- Conduct detailed inspections of roofing and construction installations across systems including shingle, tile, metal, TPO, and flashing
- Identify quality issues, deficiencies, or potential failures early to prevent rework and warranty claims
- Ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications, project standards, and applicable building codes
- Document inspections with photos, detailed notes, and clear corrective action plans
Communication & Coordination
- Act as a liaison between field crews, office staff, builders, and clients
- Provide timely updates on project progress, issues, and resolutions
- Communicate field conditions and recommendations to operations and scheduling teams
- Professionally address quality concerns when necessary
Ownership & Accountability
- Take full ownership of assigned projects and field outcomes
- Track issues from identification through full resolution
- Verify corrective work is completed properly and meets required standards
- Maintain a high level of personal accountability and follow-through
Process, Systems & Documentation
- Manage work orders, inspections, and job notes within digital job management platforms
- Ensure all field activities are properly documented
- Follow operational workflows and contribute to process improvements
- Maintain organized records for quality control, scheduling, and reporting
Problem Solving & Decision Making
- Evaluate field challenges and make sound, timely decisions
- Balance production schedules with quality and long-term performance
- Escalate critical issues with clear analysis and recommended solutions
- Proactively identify risks related to schedule, cost, or workmanship

Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2 - 4 years of experience in roofing, construction, or field supervision
- Strong knowledge of roofing systems, flashing details, and construction sequencing
- Experience performing quality control inspections
- Ability to read plans, specifications, and manufacturer installation requirements
- Comfortable working in active construction and new-build environments
- Proficient with mobile job management software tools
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites
Preferred
- Experience in residential new construction roofing
- Familiarity with multiple roofing systems (tile, metal, TPO, shingles)
- Experience working directly with builders and construction managers
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work in outdoor construction environments
- Ability to climb ladders and access roofs when required
- Ability to lift and carry standard inspection and safety equipment
- Ability to walk job sites and stand for extended periods
- Ability to use a personal vehicle to travel between job sites (vehicle allowance may be provided)
