Position Overview

To oversee, plan, coordinate, and implement the management of project teams to ensure compliance with company quality control plans and project contract requirements. Assist in implementing FHP 3-Phase Quality Control Plan for the division. Manage QC Managers/QC Technicians and their project responsibilities. Collaborate with the company quality committee to improve and adapt the quality control program.

Responsibilities

• Monitor field work performed by independent testing agencies and fabrication/manufacturing companies.
• Perform receiving inspections of materials and compare with approved submittals.
• Ensure subcontractor work complies with standards, contracts, and industry norms.
• Coordinate quality inspection testing with project teams and QC Managers.
• Identify non-conforming work and develop corrective actions.
• Review and prepare reports and quality records per procedures.
• Maintain project quality control documentation.
• Understand and apply the company quality control program and industry standards.
• Review project contracts and specifications.
• Manage punch lists to track outstanding work before project completion.
• Create quality control check sheets as needed.
• Perform quality control audits internally and externally.
• Review project schedules for inspection and testing needs.
• Attend owner and subcontractor meetings as required.
• Review qualifications of inspection firms.
• Develop scopes of work for testing and subcontractor inclusion.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in quality assurance, inspection, or operations within construction.
• Knowledge of building, bridge, highway standards, and relevant quality control requirements.
• Certifications in QA/QC or inspections are desirable but not mandatory.
• Effective communication and managerial skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to evaluate work acceptability based on standards and contract requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and problem anticipation.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with computers, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
• Four-year college degree or equivalent experience and training.
