Job summary

Tremco Construction Products Group is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the plant quality program, drive ISO compliance, and advance Lean Six Sigma initiatives across production and labs. You will collaborate with customers, Purchasing, and Corporate to maintain high product quality and process excellence.

The role requires 4–7 years related experience, a relevant degree, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. This on-site position in Ashland, OH offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quality, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials, Polymer, or Business.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or quality preferred.
• ISO knowledge and Six Sigma training are highly valued.
• Experience in rubber chemistry or extrusion processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all quality-related functions in the plant.
• Act as primary plant liaison with Customers dealing with their processing issues.
• Participate in the development of specifications for processing, products, and materials.
• Work with Corporate and local Purchasing on vendor quality or supply issues; assist with vendor selection and qualification.
• Manage ISO Quality systems and lead lean/six sigma initiatives.
• Respond to and report on customer complaints; investigate root causes and implement corrective actions (SAP).
• Develop quality standards for raw materials and finished products.
• Oversee all lab functions and personnel; ensure safety and integrity.
• Test on raw materials and finished product as required.
• Participate in annual budget planning and cost-saving initiatives.
• Assist in compliance activities (Hazcom, SDS).
• Other projects/tasks as assigned.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Quality Manager manages the Quality Process to ensure we are effectively meeting our key business metrics and satisfying all customer product requirements.

Key responsibilities include Quality, Lean and Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement with responsibility for ISO quality systems and compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee all quality-related functions in the plant.
• Act as primary plant liaison with Customers dealing with their processing issues.
• Participate in the development of specifications for processing, products, and materials.
• Work directly with Corporate and local Purchasing on vendor quality or supply issues; assist with vendor selection and qualification.
• Manage ISO Quality systems.
• Lead the lean/six sigma initiatives in the plant.
• Respond to and report on customer complaints - manage the root cause investigation, corrective action implementation and follow up, and the SAP quality process.
• Interact professionally and timely both verbally and in writing with customers and sales force.
• Develop quality standards for raw materials and finished products.
• Oversee all lab functions and personnel, assuring safety and integrity of those operations.
• Test on raw materials and finished product as required.
• Implement material cost-saving plans where and when appropriate.
• Participate in annual budget planning.
• Assist in all compliance activities, especially Hazcom and maintaining SDS system.
• Other projects/tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

• Degree in Quality, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials, Polymer, or Business.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or quality preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

• Four to seven years related experience and/or training.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• ISO certified preferred.
