Job summary

Tremco Construction Products Group (CPG), part of RPM International Inc., seeks a Quality Manager to oversee the quality process, ISO systems, and supplier and product compliance. You will lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives and serve as liaison for third-party testing across our manufacturing network.

The role includes lab oversight, CAPA execution, training programs, and collaboration with manufacturing, engineering, and sales to ensure ongoing product quality and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quality functions and ISO quality systems and lead lean/Six Sigma initiatives.

• Coordinate product and process audits to ensure standard work and regulatory compliance.
• Lead lab operations and ensure safety and integrity of testing activities.
• Establish testing parameters and schedule third-party testing to avoid bottlenecks.
• Lead CAPA programs and verify corrective actions with follow-up testing.
• Collaborate with other departments on vendor quality issues and supplier qualification.
• Manage customer complaints root-cause analysis and corrective actions, interfacing with SAP quality process.
• Interact with customers, product management and sales to ensure quality delivers value.

General Purpose Of The Job

The Quality Manager oversees the quality process to ensure key business metrics and customer product requirements are met. Key responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to ensuring quality of raw materials, custom color orders, and finished products, serving as the primary liaison for third party testing, implementing Lean and Six Sigma processes, and continuous improvement with responsibility for ISO quality systems and compliance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Oversee all quality related functions, manage ISO quality systems, and lead lean/six sigma initiatives (including Hoshin/policy deployment) in the plant.
• Develop lean and sustainable saving plans and facilitate small K generation and implementation.
• Develop quality standards/test/inspection plans for raw materials and finished products (specification, sample size and frequency).
• Develop and administer product and process audits to ensure standard work executed on the manufacturing floor and in the lab.
• Participate in the development of specifications for processing, products, and materials.
• Oversee all lab functions and personnel, assuring safety and integrity of operations.
• Develop and deliver robust training programs to ensure compliance with standards.
• Lead all product compliance activities to ensure certification.
• Act as the designated site representative and primary liaison for external accreditation bodies (e.g., FM, UL).
• Establish testing and sampling parameters, align product specification with required testing standards, document what constitutes a "pass" or "fail" based on consumer specifications or engineering tolerances, and schedule third-party agency testing to avoid production bottlenecks and shipping delays.
• Enact product holds and utilize inventory control systems to quarantine affected batches and prevent accidental shipment.
• Create and execute Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans to address manufacturing process issues and verify the fix with subsequent testing rounds.
• Collaborate with other departments and assist with vendor quality or supply issues as well as vendor selection and qualification.
• Manage customer complaints by responding to and leading the root cause investigation, corrective action implementation and follow up, as well as the SAP quality process.
• Interact professionally and timely both verbally and in writing with customers, product management and sales force.

Education Requirement

• Bachelors degree in quality, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials, polymer, business management or related field.

Experience Requirement

• Minimum of 5 years experience in developing and administering quality programs (Lean, ISO, Six Sigma) and chemical batch making operations. Color matching experience is a plus.

Benefits And Compensation

The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $105,265 and $131,581. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
