Job summary

Belle Aire Creations in Round Lake Park, IL, seeks a Quality Lead for the 3rd shift. This role validates incoming raw materials, supports production, and ensures finished goods meet specifications through lab testing and process oversight.

You will collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Logistics, Customer Service, Planning, and sample fulfilment teams; maintain GMP standards; and drive safe work practices, documentation, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced fragrance and flavor

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate or bachelor degree preferred.
• 3 years of QC, production lab, or analytical lab experience.
• Excellent oral and written proficiency in English.
• GMP knowledge and ability to work under pressure.
• Proficient IT skills and comfortable with PC applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scheduling sample work as directed by Operations managers.
• Be point of contact for 3rd QC lab functions to Senior managers of operations department.
• Responsible for QC tech productivity by regular reporting to Operations managers.
• Perform manual testing of rush samples.
• Test and verify incoming raw materials to ensure correct identification and release.
• Conduct preliminary odor evaluations on finished batches.
• Pull micro samples for laboratory testing.
• Load samples onto GC machines for analysis.
• Conduct viscosity and pH testing as required.
• Quarantine materials that are out of specification or range.
• Oversee proper disposal of expired materials/products.
• Implementation of safe work practices.
• Adhere to Belle Aire Creations PTO policy.

Job Description:

Due to increasing business activity and to further build upon our continued success, Belle Aire Creations needs capable Quality Lead. Our Quality Leads are specialists whose primary goal is to validate incoming raw materials through the production process, and into the finished goods phases of operations. To do so, the Quality teams oversee current production processes utilizing an array of raw test methods to ascertain compliance, as well as scheduling lists for sample orders. You will support the fragrance manufacturing process alongside Production Staff, Purchasing, Logistics, Customer Service, Planning, and sample fulfilment staff. Quality Technicians report to the Quality Manger of their respective shift, under direction of the Senior Quality Manger.

Job Responsibilities:

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma required, Associate or bachelor degree preferred.
• 3-year relevant experience in QC, production lab, or analytical lab environment.
• Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language.
• Production skills: Knowledge of Good manufacturing processes (GMP’s).
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Deadline oriented.
• IT skills - Proficiency in using common PC applications.
• Excellent ability to work with others.
• Cognitive (Reasoning):
  • Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, visual, or schedule form.
• Communication:
  • Vocalize and explain detailed data and problem-solve, both in-person and by telephone. Must have good communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Compose routine correspondence on own initiative.

  • Send follow-up emails and provide requested documentation to other departments.

• Physical Capabilities
  • Strength (lifting, dexterity, repetitive motion):
    • Must be able to lift 40-lbs onto waist high shelves.
    • Must be able to lift and carry a min of 25lbs.
  • Movement: Employee will frequently use fingers, walk and distinguish basic colors. Employee will continuously use both hands, sit for extended periods of time, and use rapid or well-developed coordination simultaneously.
  • Hearing: Must be able to hear and understand work direction in a loud, distracting environment
  • Vision: Must be able to judge distance, identify details, and view computer screen regularly
