Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Lead to oversee inspection activities and provide day-to-day leadership within the quality function. This position plays a key role in ensuring products meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and company quality standards while supporting production schedules and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting precision-machined components and electromechanical assemblies, programming CMM equipment, interpreting GD&T requirements, and leading inspection teams in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Inspection Leadership
- Coordinate daily inspection activities to support manufacturing schedules and customer commitments.
- Manage receiving, in-process, final, and first article inspection activities.
- Ensure inspection processes are executed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with quality requirements.
- Review inspection records and quality documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Evaluate nonconforming material reports and ensure appropriate disposition and corrective actions are implemented.
- Support internal audits, customer audits, and quality system compliance initiatives.
Technical Expertise
- Serve as a technical resource for inspectors, machinists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel.
- Lead inspection planning activities for new products, including measurement methods, fixtures, tooling, and inspection strategies.
- Create, modify, and maintain CMM programs using PC-DMIS.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Analyze inspection and quality data to support troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
- Train, mentor, and support the professional development of inspection personnel.
- Assist with onboarding, performance feedback, and employee development planning.
- Monitor departmental metrics and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and throughput.
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inspection processes, workflow optimization, and operational performance.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and operations leadership to resolve quality-related challenges.
Required Qualifications
Technical Qualifications
- Experience programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using PC-DMIS.
- Strong practical knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience inspecting precision-machined components and electromechanical assemblies.
- Proficiency with standard inspection equipment and measurement techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Familiarity with quality systems, inspection methodologies, and manufacturing environments.

- Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or providing work direction to inspection personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
